What do you do?
My practice is focused in the area of estate law, including wills, committeeships, probate grants, trust and estate administration, and litigation. I also practice in the area of family law, including divorce, parenting, property division, spousal and child support, prenuptial and separation agreements, and protection. In all matters, I strive to resolve disputes in a practical, fair, and cost-effective way.
What are your strengths?
I am a strong communicator. I always aim to be clear, calm, and compassionate in all my interactions with clients. I understand that the legal process may be foreign or even frightening. I keep my clients informed of the process and empower them as they navigate through the court and dispute resolution system.
Prior to my call to the Bar of British Columbia, I completed my articles with Hart Legal during which time I gained experience in negotiation, mediation, and court at the Provincial Court and Supreme Court Chambers. While in law school, I worked at The Law Center in Victoria, BC. providing pro bono legal representation to individuals who cannot afford a lawyer. I had conduct of over 30 files in the areas of criminal defence, family, civil litigation, human rights, residential tenancy disputes, and bankruptcy. I was fortunate to conduct a civil trial in Provincial Court at that early stage of my career
What is your passion?
People are my passion. More specifically, I am passionate about helping people thrive. It is near impossible to thrive while locked in conflict. I aim to empower my clients through effective advocacy and creative problem solving so they can make informed decisions, achieve the best possible result, and move forward with their lives.
