What do you do?
I manage communications, identifying issues and media or public relations opportunities for HART Legal.
What are your strengths?
I am a former Communications Manager for the British Columbia Ministry of Attorney General.
It has been my pleasure to work with these dedicated legal counsel and employees and my communications counterparts across government. I worked on some of the most difficult civil, criminal and legislative matters facing British Columbia. I have advised the Attorney General’s office on various issues and media relations for complex and contentious criminal trials. I worked on projects involving litigation against tobacco manufacturers and the Independent Investigations Office.
I have also provided communications counsel on affordable housing, the HIV/AIDS epidemic, and mental health legislation. I have also worked on other topics such as adult guardianship, public health priorities and post-secondary education. I have prepared Ministers and ministries for Question Period and budget debates, written speeches, managed publications and social media and organized events.
It was my privilege to receive a Merit Award for top Presidential Division employee and scholarships for management and legal training.
What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about upholding organizations’ integrity and communicating their achievements and challenges. I enjoy managing and working with other creative people to brand an organization’s products. I am interested in innovation, design and foreign policy.
Activities outside of work
I enjoy hiking, dancing and photography.
I have volunteered with the Canadian Public Relations Society, International Association of Business Communicators and emergency preparedness.
